May 25 Events

The APOLLO project was in presented at two major events in 2025, where our partner Swansea University UK was represented by Matthew Davies, UNESCO Chair in Sustainable Energy Technologies and Head of the Applied Photochemistry Group at Swansea University. In May, Prof. Davies attended the RSC Sustainability Symposium in London, which brought together leading experts to explore cleaner chemical solutions, sustainable innovation, and renewable energy technologies within a circular economy.

He also took part in FuturePV, an international conference dedicated to next-generation photovoltaic (PV) technologies, including advanced materials, perovskite–silicon tandem cells, and strategies for reuse and remanufacturing. At this event, he represented APOLLO together with Senol Öz, CEO of Solaveni GmbH, another valued APOLLO partner.

Prof. Davies’ pioneering research focuses on perovskite photovoltaics and remanufacturing processes that enable reuse within a circular economy. His participation in these events underscores APOLLO’s mission to accelerate sustainable, innovative technologies that minimise waste and maximise societal benefits.

Both the RSC Sustainability Symposium and FuturePV provided valuable platforms to present APOLLO’s contribution to advancing renewable energy solutions within a circular economy and to strengthen collaboration between academia, research, and industry in the energy transition.
