APOLLO featured by CINEA

The APOLLO project has been featured by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), highlighting its work on circular photovoltaic (PV) recycling and material recovery.

The article presents APOLLO ’s approach to recovering materials from end-of-life PV modules and reusing them in the production of new photovoltaic components.

From recycling to reuse

APOLLO focuses on recovering key PV materials, including:

  • silicon

  • glass

  • metals

These materials are processed for reuse in new PV modules, supporting a more circular approach in the photovoltaic sector.

Project activities and results

The feature highlights several aspects of the project, including:

  • development of a pilot line to process PV waste

  • recovery of materials for reuse in new modules

  • progress in separating clean glass and technical metal fractions

The project combines sorting, extraction, silicon refining, and digital product passports to support circular solutions in photovoltaics.
