APOLLO Showcased in EDP’s Webinar on the Future of Solar
On 24 June 2025, the APOLLO project was featured in EDP’s monthly R&D Session titled The Future of Solar: Beyond Conventional PV. This online event gathered leading experts to explore innovative solutions for advancing solar technology and tackling the key challenges of the renewable energy transition.
Representing APOLLO, Peter Henatsch (Fraunhofer CSP) delivered a presentation and introduced APOLLO’s vision for developing efficient recycling processes that enable the recovery of high-value materials such as silicon, glass, and metals. By combining advanced classification, pilot processing, and design-for-recyclability strategies, APOLLO is helping shape a circular future for the PV industry.
The webinar also featured contributions from other projects and experts, including discussions on perovskite PV printing technologies and AgriVoltaics in Portugal. The session concluded with a lively Q&A, highlighting how collaborative R&D efforts can accelerate innovation and sustainability across the solar sector.
This webinar is part of our partner EDP’s R&D Sessions initiative — a series of monthly online events dedicated to Research & Development. Bringing together universities, R&D centres, start-ups, and companies, these sessions foster dialogue on how innovation is driving the transition towards a greener, more sustainable energy system.
