Introducing The Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovoltaics

Introducing APOLLO project coordinator - Fraunhofer CSP.

The Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovoltaics CSP was established as a joint facility of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Microstructure of Materials and Systems (IMWS).

Almost the entire value chain of silicon photovoltaics, including recycling activities, is represented on an industrial scale at the CSP. Excellent diagnostics enable analyses at every stage. Many years of work in this field and intensive contact with industrial partners ensure that the CSP has excellent expertise in this field.

In the APOLLO project, The Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovoltaics CSP, based on the knowledge and experience of many years work in PV recycling, will be responsible for:

  • process development for recovery of high-purity silicon and other materials

  • waste sorting

  • physical, chemical and thermal processing

  • mono-ingot growth

  • wafer cutting

  • and pilot line installation and assessment.
