Introducing APOLLO consortium member - UOG - The University of Glasgow.

Founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow is the fourth oldest university in the UK and is now one of the world’s great broad-based, research-intensive universities with over 6,700 staff and a turnover of almost £570 million. It is a top-100 world University and renowned for eminent teachers such as Adam Smith, Joseph Black and William Thomson. The university’s campus boasts more than 100 listed buildings as well as modern teaching and research facilities, and hosts over 19,000 undergraduates and more than 7,600 postgraduates.  

The team is based in the James Watt School of Engineering which developed the first UK engineering degree scheme, which is home to around 2500 students, from 66 countries. 

In the APOLLO project, UOG will work on the:

  • Glass panel analysis.

  • Technical metal recovery.

  • Use of ultrasound to increase recovery rates.

  • Assessment of recovered metals.

  • Development of new design for recycling concepts.

  • Pilot plant design.
