Perolink

Introducing APOLLO consortium member - Perolink .

Perolink is a deep-tech startup based in Cologne, Germany, producing high-purity perovskite precursor chemicals. The company develops sustainable synthesis routes for organic and inorganic perovskite precursor materials, including a patented process for manufacturing compounds such as formamidinium iodide (FAI) and PbI₂.

In addition, Perolink develops green solvent-based processing routes, including protic ionic liquids (PILs), to minimize the environmental and human health impact of perovskite ink formulations, replacing the harmful solvents and corrosive acids commonly used in conventional synthesis.

Role in the APOLLO project:

In APOLLO, Perolink develops a non-hazardous, solvent-based process to recover perovskite materials from end-of-life single-junction perovskite and perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells. The recovered materials are then used to synthesize new perovskite precursors, demonstrating that these materials can be recycled back into production. Together with its work package partners, Perolink aims to maximise the material recovery rate while minimizing energy use and chemical waste.
